1. An amazing couple of folks inviting me to dinner, straight from their garden. I helped bring in the kale.
2. Turning a corner in Potrero Hill and stumbling upon one of the best views in the city. Everything was layered in fog, and the sun was going down at its own pace. The edges of the hill glowed gold.
3. Wandering into Jack London Square and sneaking into the marina. White boats gleamed orange in the strong sunset light. The planks rocked gently under our feet.
4. Alex telling me that my friends love me and want to celebrate me. Trying to embrace that, letting it sink in, breathing it in as deeply as I can. Recognizing how good I’ve got it.
5. This feels humbler than the rest, but coming home after a long day to freshly cooked Chinese food and ice cream with fresh strawberries on top. Watching an old rerun on MTV with two boys who didn’t know what they were getting themselves into.
