If you’ve visited CreativeStay before, then you know this corner of the web is all about getting inspired and making something of it. Being creative, for me, makes colors brighter and things worth doing. It’s how I was born, what I cultivated throughout my schooling, and what I continue to push myself to be every day. Needless to say, I think it’s important. Crucial, even. If you’re like me and/or agree, then there’s something else you should know:
Being creatively productive requires having confidence in yourself. Confidence in your ability to think and create.
A long time ago, I realized that the only way for me to stay productive and happy (creatively and otherwise) was to surround myself with people who know what it means to be a good friend, and to try and do things that make me happy and fulfilled. Sometimes this leads to lifestyle changes– drinking less, eating more, no longer spending time with that one person (or that entire group). Sometimes it means you ought to read, or adventure, or dance around your apartment that much more. This level of self awareness came to me slowly but surely, as I realized who and what around me was toxic, or simply draining. This muscle is something I work to exercise each and every day.
I just need you to know that you are smart, and have a beautiful laugh, and that doing what makes you happy also makes you shine. You are unique in the most brilliant way, and everyone around you can see it.
If anyone makes you feel less than, or suggests that this thing you want to do is too big for you, they are only trying to steal some of your brightness for themselves. Don’t let them. Breathe into your self. Exhale only greatness.
I believe in you.
If you’re ever in need of a pep talk, I have good news. Kara Haupt, a designer/creative soul/feminist, created a pep talk generator for beautiful and talented and sensitive folks just like you. Find it here: Pep Talk Generator.
I hope you have the most beautiful day. You deserve it.
