Happy 2017 everyone!!! I can’t believe how fast this past year went by. A weird, crazy year to boot. I’ve been putting off writing this post because I’m still working through it all.
Last year I made the goal to not make any decisions out of fear, and I’m proud of how far that took me. I moved 3 times, including across the country (!), changed jobs, and tried a lot of new things. Things I didn’t know I could do, or handle, but tried anyway. Every aspect of my life has blossomed in the past year, and I have this sentiment to thank.
Going into this next year, I’m introducing a new goal– “I can’t predict the future.” I am very future and goal oriented, so taking a step back and reminding myself that I don’t actually know where my work/efforts will lead feels like the key to staying present. As long as I’m still learning, loving and creating, things are probably going all right.
In an effort to kick 2017 off on the right foot, my friends and I woke up and drove north, up to Bear Mountain. It was freezing cold, but also stunning. And I wanted to share some of those moments with you:
These photos aren’t particularly epic, or the best photos photos I’ve taken– but they remind me of going on an adventure with close friends to somewhere beautiful. That’s a tradition I’ve kept up for several years now, and hope stays strong for years to come.
I hope you enjoyed seeing a few moments of my new years day! Now it’s time to live as much as possible for the rest of this year. What goals do you have in mind?
