For the past few years, I’ve spent Thanksgiving with Alex’s family. And in true CS fashion, I have showed up with a gift in hand each time. Today I’d like to share the fun way I wrapped this year’s gift now that the hostess has opened it 🙂
This year, I DIYed a gift with the help of Artifact Uprising. Having been able to spend Thanksgiving with the same lovely family last year, I went through my photo archives and created a photo book containing all the loveliest moments I had captured of Thanksgiving 2015.
Because this gift is on the physically smaller side, I wanted to wrap it with a little bit of extra oomph. Nothing too fragile, as I needed it to last in my bag through a flight, but still special. So I took a very simple approach that (luckily!) looked great and held up during my travels.
I took a piece of 8×11 plaid-patterned cardstock, from the ever-reliable A Beautiful Mess shop, and folded it in half. The Artifact Uprising book fit perfectly. I then taped the three open sides together with three pieces of gold washi tape (because the books aren’t particularly thick or heavy, one piece on each side suffices). Next, a couple of letter stickers in honor of the recipients, some beautiful twine from Amazon and Anthropologie, and that’s it!
The sheer simplicity of this hostess gift DIY is the reason for no step-by-step instructions. Pretty easy, huh? How are you saying thanks this holiday season?
xo,
